Mackenzie graduated from The University of Toronto with a Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy in 2016, and received an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour from McMaster University in 2013. She is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Physiotherapy Associations and has clinical experience with sports injuries, post-surgical patients, geriatric and pediatric patient populations. She completed the McMaster Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program in 2017. After becoming a mother in 2018, she developed an interest in women's health and oncology rehabilitation. She became a certified pelvic health physiotherapist through pelvic health solutions in 2019 and is able to treat a wide variety of pelvic issues, such as chronic pelvic pain, incontinence and post-partum issues. Mackenzie actively participates in Crossfit and enjoys hiking in her spare time.
Marco is an Athletic Therapist who graduated from Sheridan College in 2019. Prior to his time at Sheridan, Marco went to Brock University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. During his time at Sheridan, Marco worked with a variety of sports team at the high school, collegiate, and professional level, including the Vancouver Whitecaps soccer club. Marco believes that exercise is a major component to ones rehab from any injury, and utilizes that philosophy when treating. Marco is enthusiastic about applying the knowledge he has learned from these various teams and positions to ensure the best outcomes for his clients. Outside of work, Marco likes to exercise, play sports, and spend time with family and friends.
Shannon is an accomplished RMT currently focusing her career in General Swedish Massage. Her interest in massage therapy stems from her love of muscle anatomy. She is passionate about learning and understanding how the body works, as it varies with every individual and lifestyle. Since successfully graduating from Ontario College of Health and Technology she has kept current in techniques such as deep tissue massage, joint play and myofacial and soft tissue release. Shannon believes that Massage Therapy combined with proper home care and the right level of activity is key to reaching your treatment goals. Shannon is excited to expand her knowledge in massage therapy and learn new complimentary modalities to facilitate a custom treatment plan for each individual patient.
Dr. Wayne Jerome is a chiropractor at Performance Physiotherapy. He is a graduate of Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). Prior to attending CMCC, Dr. Jerome studied at McMaster University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He has been providing patient-centered chiropractic care, which is a hands-on health care discipline in the Hamilton area since 1986. He has worked with several local sport teams including the Hamilton Hurricane Junior Football team and the Hamilton Thunder Soccer team. Dr. Jerome practices diversified chiropractic technique which involves manual therapies, including spinal and extremity manipulation as well as lifestyle and rehabilitation recommendations. Dr. Jerome’s goal is to reduce pain, improve function, and educate patients so they may achieve and maintain their best quality of life.
Jennifer joined the Performance Physiotherapy team in March 2016. Jennifer is a definite people person and is very passionate about helping others. She has over 20 years experience in Administration and Customer Service and is also fully bilingual.
